Collect borrower documents with one link, no account for the client
A mortgage file is a stack of the most sensitive documents a person has — payslips, bank statements, tax returns, ID. Collecting them over email or a generic portal means readable copies scattered across inboxes and third-party servers.
ShieldFive File Request turns the document list into a checklist behind one link. The borrower uploads with no account, each file sealed to your keys in their browser, and you decrypt the completed file in your own browser.
The borrower opens one link
No account, no app, no password reset mid-application. They see the checklist — three payslips, two statements, ID — and drag files in. The people who drop out of a portal signup are the ones who currently email you a photo instead.
The whole stack, sealed on their phone
Payslips, statements and ID are encrypted to your public key on the borrower’s own device. What reaches us is ciphertext with encrypted filenames; a breach of our storage yields only ciphertext, and we hold no keys to it.
Still sealed years into the mortgage
Files are sealed with a hybrid of ML-KEM-1024 and X25519 through the open-source @shieldfive/crypto core. A borrower’s bank statements stay confidential for the life of the loan, not just until cryptography moves on.

Questions
- How does the borrower use it?
- They open the link, see the checklist of documents you need, and drag files in. No account, no app, no password. Each file is encrypted to your keys before it leaves their device.
- Can I see what’s still outstanding?
- Yes — your inbox tracks each request as pending or received, so you can see at a glance which borrower documents are still missing.
