Uncompromising Security
Zero-knowledge encryption, per-file keys, strong defaults, and post-quantum readiness. Security is not a feature - it is the foundation.
About the project
ShieldFive is zero-knowledge storage built for people who refuse to be scanned, analyzed, fingerprinted, or profiled. It does not ask for trust — it removes the need for it. Your files stay fully encrypted before they ever leave your device. No "secure" shortcuts, no hidden scanning, no AI models training on your life. This is cloud storage where the platform has zero access, zero visibility, and zero excuses.
ShieldFive started in 2026 because cloud storage kept adding "AI" features that needed plaintext access. The intended model — store an encrypted blob, hand over the key, leave it alone — didn't really exist past the niche, and the products that came closest (Proton Drive, Mega, Internxt) all had specific gaps to close.
We built a system where that update would be impossible — not because of policy, but because of math.
The design constraint was deliberate: build the storage system, ship the cryptography library separately so anyone can audit it, run a public bug bounty for the library, and defer the external audit until product revenue funds it.
That's not a limitation we're working around. That's the entire product.
Principles
Zero-knowledge encryption, per-file keys, strong defaults, and post-quantum readiness. Security is not a feature - it is the foundation.
No ads, no selling data, no AI pipelines, no hidden processing. You're the customer - not the product.
Designed for high-risk users: journalists under pressure, lawyers handling sensitive cases, activists facing retaliation, and anyone tired of platforms reading their files.
No tracking pixels. No engagement loops. No upsell theater. The product is the product.
Bootstrapped. No VC pressure to monetize your data. Pricing pays the bills. That's it.
The promise
"The "what we cannot do" section on the home page is the falsifiable version of this commitment. If any line on that section changes — if ShieldFive starts being able to read files, scan content, or train AI on plaintext — the change will be announced on the build-log with the same disclosure discipline the bug bounty program runs on. Re-read that section every six months; that's the canary."
