A Typeform alternative that encrypts answers before they’re submitted
Typeform makes beautiful forms, but the answers land on Typeform’s servers in a form they can read. For a health questionnaire, an intake form, or anything under GDPR, that’s a readable copy of exactly the data you’re most obliged to protect.
ShieldFive Secure Forms is narrower — it collects answers, not a design showcase — but each response is sealed to your keys on the respondent’s device, so the intake exists only as ciphertext until you decrypt it.
The host stores only ciphertext
Each response is encrypted to your public key in the respondent’s browser before it is submitted. There is no readable answer set on our side — which also means no server-side dashboards, charts, or analytics over your data. That trade is the entire product.
Sealed for however long you keep it
Responses are sealed with a hybrid of ML-KEM-1024 and X25519 through the open-source @shieldfive/crypto core. A questionnaire you archive for five years is protected against someone stockpiling ciphertext now to open later.
EU-hosted, DPA on every seat
Ciphertext and metadata live in the EU, and a GDPR data-processing agreement is included on every seat rather than gated behind an enterprise call — which matters when the answers are health, legal, or financial data.
The same frictionless submit
Respondents open the link and fill it in — no account, exactly as with Typeform. Only you need a free ShieldFive account, because the answers are sealed to keys that have to belong to someone.
Collect answers you can’t leak
Build a form, share the link, and every answer is sealed to your keys in the respondent’s browser — no account for them.

Questions
- Is this as polished as Typeform?
- No — Typeform is a mature, conversational form builder with rich design and logic. Secure Forms focuses on one property Typeform can’t offer: the answers are end-to-end encrypted to you in the respondent’s browser, and the service stores only ciphertext. For sensitive intake, that trade is usually worth it.
- Can Typeform read my responses?
- Yes — Typeform holds your responses in readable form. With Secure Forms, responses are sealed to your public key (ML-KEM-1024 + X25519) in the respondent’s browser; we only ever store ciphertext.
- Do respondents need an account?
- No. They open the link and submit — no account, like Typeform. Only you need a free ShieldFive account.
