One payment. 5 TB for life.

Encrypted on your device before upload. No subscription, no renewal.

€199 once · 5 TB · post-quantum · EU-hosted · 30-day money-back

150 vaults in total, across all releases · €199 until 31 October 2026, then €249.

The ShieldFive Founding Lifetime is 5 TB of encrypted cloud storage for €199, paid once, with a 30-day full refund. Founding Lifetime is capped at 150 vaults in total. This price holds until 31 October 2026; after that it stays on sale at €249. Every file and file name is encrypted on your device before upload; ShieldFive stores only ciphertext and never holds your keys. It works in the browser, and an Android app is coming to Google Play; the iOS and desktop apps are in testing, not yet available. A free 10 GB plan lets you try it first. No independent security audit has been completed yet (one is planned); the crypto core, its spec and test vectors are public.

You pay for space, never for protection. Every plan — Free to Pro to this lifetime vault — ships the identical architecture.

Built for files kept for decades

Your files are locked by keys that come from your password through symmetric cryptography, with no key exchange for a future quantum computer to attack. New uploads also carry an ML-KEM-1024 post-quantum layer by default, on every plan including Free.

Encrypted before it leaves your device

Files are encrypted on your device before they leave it. We hold ciphertext, never your keys. No key, no backdoor, no plaintext.

You can check the crypto yourself

The cryptographic core is open source under Apache-2.0. The part that decides whether your files are safe is public and inspectable.

Pro 5 TB is normally €192 / year → this is €199, once.

“Lifetime” = 99 years or your lifetime, whichever is shorter, per Terms §5.3. Already bought it? Redeem it here.

“I chose ShieldFive because it doesn't just promise privacy—it implements the post-quantum cryptography (PQC) necessary to protect data against future threats. It's a breath of fresh air to find a developer who is actually moving the needle on quantum-resistant storage.”

Before you buy

What does “lifetime” mean?

99 years from purchase or your lifetime, whichever is shorter, while the account is used under the Terms (Terms §5.3). One payment, no renewal, and the vault is yours, not transferable.

What happens if ShieldFive shuts down?

You get at least 12 months’ notice by email and in the app, and export stays available for that whole period (Terms §5.7). The library that decrypts your files is open source, so an exported bundle decrypts without ShieldFive.

How do I get a refund?

Email [email protected] within 30 days of buying, from the address on your account. We refund the full price to the card or wallet you paid with. No lengthy justification needed.

Can I take my files out any time?

Yes. Any file downloads from the app, decrypted in your browser, whenever you like. Downloads, exports included, count toward the 200 GB every 30 days; past it, downloads pause until the next cycle and nothing is charged. If ShieldFive gives notice that it is closing, downloads and exports during the notice period do not count toward that allowance, so the whole vault can be taken out (Terms §5.7). The file format and the code that decrypts it are open source, so reading your files never depends on a secret of ours.

What can I use today?

The web app, in a current browser on a computer or phone: uploads, folders, albums, Google Photos import and share links. The Android app is coming to Google Play; the iOS and desktop apps are in testing and not yet available, and there is no desktop sync client, WebDAV or rclone access yet. The free plan runs the same web app, so you can check it before paying.

Do I need an account before paying?

No. Pay with your email, then create the vault with that same address. If you already have a free account, buy while signed in and the 5 TB applies to it, files included.

Who handles the payment?

Stripe. Card details go to Stripe and never reach our servers. You can pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay where your device supports them.

Icedrive sells no pay-once plan of 5 TB or more. Proton Drive, MEGA, Filen, Sync.com, and Koofr sell no pay-once plan. Prices checked 23 October 2026 on each provider’s own site, including current sale prices; sales change, so each name links to its source. Resellers can sell some of these plans for less; they are not compared.

What “lifetime” actually means

We’d rather tell you the boring truth than sell you a fantasy. Here is exactly what you’re buying. To compare it with the other providers that still sell pay-once storage, see lifetime cloud storage compared.

  1. Definition

Lifetime means 99 years from purchase or your lifetime, whichever is shorter, while the account is used under the Terms (Terms §5.3). It is non-transferable, and the storage and price you paid never change.

  2. If we ever wind down

At least 12 months’ notice by email and in the app, with export available the whole time (Terms §5.7). The decryption library is open source, so an exported bundle decrypts without us.

  3. Fair use

The vault is 5 TB of storage with 200 GB of downloads every 30 days, for personal use (Terms §5.4). No overage charges: reaching a limit pauses uploads or downloads until the next cycle, and never deletes a file.

  4. Why we can offer it

You hold the keys; we hold ciphertext. Storage costs fall every year, and most vaults never fill — so a one-time price is honest maths, not a gamble we are hiding. The Founding Lifetime is also capped at 150 vaults in total, so the storage we owe is bounded.

You hold the keys. We hold ciphertext.

That is the only reason a price this permanent can be honest — not a discount we hope you forget, just the maths of a service that stores only ciphertext.

Buy the space once.
Keep it for life.
